I was in Switzerland when I was in my early teens, and had the opportunity to have raclette when the family I was visiting had a family gathering. This was a VERY long time ago, and I still tell people about it. I can think of no other meal I had once, and made such a long lasting impression on me. I will look for the cheese, and will follow your instructions (minus the Swiss Hazel) this fall in our hunting camp. I can't thank you enough!

For my SAK's and other knives, for many, many years, I have been using food grade mineral oil for cutting boards or mineral oil from the pharmacy and have had no issues with it. It has yet to get sticky; stays as oily as the day I applied it. It is cheap too. As for applying the oil on my knives and other tiny spaces, I have been using syringes with blunt tip needles. I also use the CA glue micro tip kits with bottles and trim them to length as needed. Both of these application items can be found on Amazon. The last time I purchased them, I got a CA glue application set with 320 tips and 10 bottles. As for the syringes, I got a kit with 30 syringes of various sizes from 1ml to 20ml and needles ranging from 14ga to 25ga. These applicators come in handy for a lot more than just knives.

I'll be damned! I had no idea I could screw the pen into the corkscrew! That's amazing. This would never in a million years have occurred to me.

The last technique is awesome but definitely requires some training. My cork just broke and it was a mess. But probably my fault for not putting the knife in deep enough. I'll try some more soon.

Thanks Felix! I got my hands on a 1980 Swisschamp that hadn't been used much. But it was left to sit in bad environmental conditions for 40 years, the blades could barely move. Now it looks and works like new!!!! My first knife rescue was a Super Tinker. PS. Glad to know WD-40 is safe, since I use it all the time.

Hi Felix! I'm writing to you because I believe you have a way to communicate directly with "Victorinox" (although I'm not sure). In my opinion, it should be pointed out that, at least for the "Ranger" model, the saw needs a lock just like the blade does. I'm writing to you with a bandage on my finger that I just applied: despite being careful while scraping some fatwood, the blade closed on my index finger. The saw is excellent but, as everyone knows, another feature is the 90-degree spine: useful for the "firesteel" and for scraping wood. Be the spokesperson for the "Swiss knife users" community: add a lock to the saw! Cheers and congratulations on the amazing videos.

Das Kamelienöl ist mir, als ehemaligem Industriemechaniker, auch noch ein Begriff. Weiterhin hatten wir "auf Arbeit" früher noch "Knochenöl" für Feinmechanische Anwendungen. Das wurde sogar in mechanischen Uhrwerken verwendet. Bienenwachs könnte auch noch brauchbar sein für Klappmesser, aber man müßte das Messer dafür wohl erwärmen, sodaß das Wachs ins Gelenk laufen kann. Abgesehen davon, hab ich, so glaub ich zumindest, meine Klappmesser nie geölt oder gefettet. Öl und Fett hat ja auch die Eigenart Staub "festzuhalten", was bei Taschenmessern und anderen Sachen die nicht Staubgeschützt sind, eher ein Nachteil ist. Aber ich bin trotzdem, grundsätzlich immer interessiert an lebensmittelechten und nicht verharzenden Schmiermitteln, die mir noch nicht geläufig sind.

This is a knife built to steal a share of sales from the well-selling mora. The 14C28 is slightly better than the 12C27 but does not justify its six times price. Will you tell me does mora have tick tweezers? In general, Victorinox multitools are aimed at customers who never use them because I don't think there is anyone serious enough to unscrew a screw with a toy screwdriver, or cut anything with miniature scissors. Now woodcarving with this knife let me not comment on it better. The boss either thinks we're stupid or he's very smart.

Do you have a video on how to wax a canva ? To make a jacket or a rambo style poncho ?

Guys don't forget to watch Felix's video on how to remove the scales from the knife without damaging them-the warm water trick. Don't just pry them off willy-nilly.

Our stone age ancestors made the job of twisting plant fibre into cordage quicker & easier with a simple tool. You make a wood or bone handle with 1 to 4 holes drilled in it. Push your material through the holes and twist as you feed It through. The increased leverage easily breaks apart tough fibres and the multi holed version can automatically twist strands together.

Guys, Felix didn't say how he got the ball for the trill whistle. Only said it was in his book. Here's the solution: dive deep and fish about 1000 oysters until you get one with a nice 8 mm pearl. Voilá! :-))

I also do it so. Used rapeseed oil or linseed oil. It's really good way.
